The Role

Level 2 Teaching Assistant

St Matthew’s Primary and Nursery Academy, Derriford  

 

Contract Term: Fixed term until 31st August 2024

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: SC2 NJC points 3 Actual Salary £15,927 (FTE £22,737)

Term Time only: 39 weeks per annum


Annual Leave: Taken outside of term time and paid pro-rata throughout the year (no annual leave to be taken during term time)

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our collaborative academy within our EYFS Team. We would like someone who is committed to joining and developing our great team, where ‘letting your light shine’ is at the heart of all we do. This is an exciting opportunity to join St Matthew’s, Derriford, part of St Christopher's Multi Academy Trust. Your role will include providing general classroom support as well as supporting 1 to 1 with individual pupils at times and assisting the teachers. You will also carry out some playground duties. 


We would welcome applications from both candidates who wish to work part time or full time and a job share would be able to be accommodated. 


St Matthew’s Primary and Nursery Academy currently has around 500 pupils, who enjoy their learning in a modern, spacious and well-equipped building and supported by dedicated, caring and driven staff who will stop at nothing to ensure that each and every one of them is enabled to let their light shine. 


We are looking a candidate who can demonstrate a calm and patient demeanour, who is committed to helping young people achieve their full potential. You will have had previous experience in working with children and be able to effectively communicate with adults and children alike.
