Level 2 Teaching Assistant
St Matthew’s Primary and Nursery Academy, Derriford
Contract Term: Fixed term until 31st August 2025
Hours: 25.5 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30am – 3:30pm, Fridays 8:30 – 3:00pm.
Salary: SC2 NJC points 3 Actual Salary £13,538 (FTE £22,737)
Term Time only: 39 weeks per annum
Annual Leave: Taken outside of term time and paid pro-rata throughout the year (no annual leave to be taken during term time)

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our collaborative academy, which is committed to developing our great team, centred around letting your light shine. This is an exciting opportunity to join St Matthew’s, Derriford, part of St Christopher's Multi Academy Trust. As part of your role, you will be providing general support as well as working 1 to 1 with individual pupils and assisting the teachers. You will also carry out some playground duties.
St Matthew’s Primary and Nursery Academy currently has around 500 pupils, who enjoy their learning in a modern, spacious and well-equipped building and supported by dedicated, caring and driven staff who will stop at nothing to ensure that each and every one of them is enabled to let their light shine.
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate a calm and patient demeanour, who are committed to helping young people achieve their full potential. They will have had previous experience in working with children and be able to effectively communicate with adults and children alike.
